“Der Turm” ist entstanden, nachdem ich durch Zufall und Stöbern im Internet auf der Suche nach Inspiration war, und schließlich das frei verfügbare Tool Alchemy entdeckt habe. Das Schöne an Alchemy ist, dass es tatsächlich die Kreativität zu fördern scheint. Bei mir hat es jedenfalls funktioniert.

Alchemy is an open drawing project aimed at exploring how we can sketch, draw, and create on computers in new ways. Alchemy isn’t software for creating finished artwork, but rather a sketching environment that focuses on the absolute initial stage of the creation process. Experimental in nature, Alchemy lets you brainstorm visually to explore an expanded range of ideas and possibilities in a serendipitous way.
Mit dem “Turm” wollte ich einfach mal wieder ein düsteres Artwork erstellen, das weitestgehend nichts mit klassischem Photocomposing zu tun hat. Die meisten Elemente wie der Hintergrund, die Skelette, die Lianen sind handgemalt. Die beiden Schädel sind von Petr Kovar und Keith Syvinski.
